Words for Ra (poetry)

I saw the sun.

Like a bloody egg yolk
Slowly ascending
Above the thick mass of trees.

Sunrise black.

Brush alive with the motion of redbirds inside.
Making homes &making songs
As testament to the goodness of life.

And the sun crept a little higher
So that all could bear witness.
