Submission Guidelines

moonshine is an online bimonthly magazine of visual, literary and music arts published by southerncreativity.com. Although the focus of the magazine is Southern U.S. arts, articles of a more general nature may be submitted.

We are currently seeking creative writers and contributors on essays on the arts.

Issues are published: Aug 10, Oct 10, Dec 10, Feb 10, April 10, June 10; Deadline for submission is 1st day of the month of publication. Work may be submitted prior to the deadline.

In submitting works for publication to moonshine, you are giving permission to publish the work online. Additionally, you are agreeing that you are the sole creator of the submitted work and that you hold appropriate copyright permissions.

You will retain copyright over your material in moonshine; additionally, material submitted to moonshine may be previously published, if you hold appropriate copyright permissions. The editorial staff at moonshine may edit or revise works for punctuation, grammar, spelling, clarity, and/or length if needed. moonshine reserves the right to refuse any work. Additionally, work which is considerably long, may be split over several issues.

SPECIFICS:
Articles should be no more than 1000 words; less than 2 pages typed. Longer works may be submitted but will be divided or published over the course of several issues. Fiction works by Southern writers or about the Southern U.S. will be accepted. Nonfiction works about Southern U.S. arts or by Southern writers will be accepted.
